Maintenance Technician 鈥� Walgreens Distribution Center Mt. Vernon, Illinois
Job Summary
Join our team at Walgreens and help maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our Distribution Center running smoothly. As a Maintenance Technician, you鈥檒l perform preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs to ensure optimal performance of our material-handling systems and facility equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and minor mechanical repairs on DC equipment.
- Use CMMS-generated worksheets to maintain machinery per manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
- Clear jams and remove foreign materials to maintain efficient equipment operation.
- Conduct general building maintenance (e.g., lighting, basic construction, wiring, plumbing, overhead doors).
Qualifications
Required (Internal & External Candidates):
- High School Diploma/GED and:
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience OR
- Associate degree in industrial or maintenance technology
- Knowledge of:
- Industrial electricity (single-phase/three-phase power, motors, sensors)
- Mechanical systems (bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors)
- At least 6 months of experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to:
- Climb up to 100 feet for repairs
- Lift up to 80 lbs
- Perform repetitive physical tasks (bending, kneeling, standing, etc.)
