INA, Ill. (July 18, 2013) - Truck driver training has been a top choice for people who want to go to work fast. Now, 海角视频 is rolling out an expanded version of this training that is eligible for financial aid.

Offered by RLC芒鈧劉s Community and Corporate Education Division, Heavy Equipment Transportation is a two-semester program that can be taken at the same time as the original 4-week occupational certificate.

芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s an opportunity for people to not only learn how to drive, but also learn how to do some basic maintenance,芒鈧 said Lori Ragland, Dean of Community and Corporate Education.

The program is ideal for matching drivers with mechanical experience and skills. Students may also earn stackable credentials by taking more advanced diesel classes. There are several different pathways available to students, including an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Heavy Equipment Technology.

芒鈧揥ith the Heavy Equipment certificate, if a driver had a breakdown, he or she could repair some of the issues on their own. It芒鈧劉s a good match to be able to do those kinds of things,芒鈧 said Community and Corporate Education Specialist Paula Myers.

The Heavy Equipment Transportation occupational certificate is designed to prepare students for the operation, maintenance and repair of semi-tractor trailers. In addition to being trained as a driver, students will learn engine and brake repair, servicing and alignment. The Illinois Secretary of State芒鈧劉s Commercial Driver芒鈧劉s License Pre-Trip, Skills and Road Examinations will be administered.

The original 4-week occupational certificate for Truck Driver Training is the perfect program for those who want a short-term training to find quick employment. The cost of the program is $3,700 and is not eligible for financial aid due to its length.

Since its inception in 1990, RLC芒鈧劉s Truck Driver Training program has educated more than 1,200 drivers. Upon successful completion of the certificate, drivers test to receive a Commercial Driver芒鈧劉s License and work with RLC on job placement. Students often receive job offers before graduating.

Students must be over the age of 21, be able to meet the Federal Department of Transportation physical requirement and have a valid driver芒鈧劉s license at the time of registration. In addition, students will be required to complete a physical and drug screening with a DOT-certified physician.
