Hubbs is a sophomore in the welding technology program and is on track to graduate Spring 2025. Mike Meinert, RLC Welding Instructor, has shared that Hubbs excels in his studies and is always prepared for class.

"Andrew is an exceptional student," said Meinert. "He has a great work ethic along with the willingness to step up and help others in the lab without hesitation. If every one of my students were like Andrew, my job would be simple."

Outside of the classroom, Hubbs has also shown his commitment to the RLC Archery team. Hubbs joined the Archery team during the 2023-2024 academic year, and quickly proved his ability.

In Foley, Alabama at the 2023 USA Archery match, an affiliated organization of RLC, Hubbs placed first in the 3 qualification rounds with a 2-point lead. He made it to the Top 3 shooters in the 3D Archery division in a 3-target pressure shoot-off. He maintained his first-place lead and came back to RLC a National Champion in 3D Archery.

Donnie Millenbine, Head Archery Coach, shared that Hubbs' skill and talent on the team is extremely impressive.

"Winning the 2023 USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals is an amazing accomplishment," said Millenbine. "He competed against the best student archers in the country, while proving to be a top-notch welding student."

While balancing being a college student and an athlete, Hubbs also helps keep the campus running by being a dedicated student worker in the RLC Physical Plant.

Hubbs' success at RLC is a testament to his dedication, skill and drive. Whether in welding, archery or supporting the campus as a student worker, he continues to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.
