IGEN grant provides solar workstations at RLC

May 10, 2022

INA, Ill. (May 10, 2022) — New solar workstations are in place at º£½ÇÊÓƵ's Ina campus. Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Green Economy Network, the workstations will play a part in RLC's plan to increase sustainable energy sources where possible on its campuses.

RLC student Devin Edwards (St. Louis) points out one of the facts about solar energy written on the concrete near a new solar work station. The chalk art was provided by students in Greg Hollmann's course.

º£½ÇÊÓƵ students gather around one of three solar work stations recently installed through an IGEN grant. The Illinois Green Economy Network is a consortium of all 39 Illinois community college districts, formed in 2008. IGEN's mission is to provide a platform for collaboration among all Illinois community colleges and their partners to drive growth of the green economy. The solar work stations provide wireless and wired charging for multiple devices, along with power outlets for other uses.
