Henderson began her career as a full-time, night shift Radiologic Technologist at Salem Hospital, where she is currently being cross-trained in Computed Tomography (CT). She credits the easy transition from school to work to the skills she developed in RLC鈥檚 radiology program.

鈥淭he program really prepared me for being able to assist with CTs,鈥 said Henderson. 鈥淚鈥檓 also able to start IV鈥檚, calculate contrast in patients on the monitor, and other necessary skills needed for my career.鈥

Looking back at her experience, Henderson says RLC faculty and staff played a big part in her success.

鈥淚 genuinely loved going to school at 海角视频,鈥 said Henderson. 鈥淭he faculty and staff at RLC are truly there to make sure each student succeeds. It鈥檚 not about enrollment numbers, it鈥檚 truly about each individual student鈥檚 success.鈥

One instructor in particular, Radiologic Technology Program Director Holly Heisner, left a lasting impact on Henderson.

鈥淭here was one point where I didn鈥檛 think I was going to pass a required physics class,鈥 said Henderson. 鈥淪he sat me down, and we went over my grades and drew up a game plan for each test and what I needed to score on it. She was really there for me during one of my worst moments academically. I will forever be grateful for her kind heart.鈥

鈥淜aitlin was an outstanding student who consistently demonstrated determination, professionalism, and a passion for patient care," said Heisner. "Her dedication and strong work ethic set her apart, and we are so proud to see her thriving as a Radiologic Technologist.鈥

To the current and future radiology students, Henderson encourages them to ask questions.

鈥淭here鈥檚 never a stupid question. Set yourself up for success by asking questions, studying with Quizlet and study guides, and taking practice tests.鈥
